Wanna learn to crochet?

Do you ever feel it too? That quiet pull to make something with your hands. To create something tangible. Something that is truly yours. To watch a simple ball of yarn slowly come to life between your fingers?

Maybe you recognize that feeling when you look at my Easter chicks. Each one began as nothing more than a soft skein of yarn. Stitch by stitch, it grew into something you can hold with pride.

Crochet is so much more than a craft. It’s a pause. A breath. A gentle return to yourself. And there is something deeply magical about looking at a finished piece and thinking, “I made this.”

That feeling of pride, of confidence, of "I can do this", is exactly what I want you to experience.

Stitch by stitch, you grow

What I’ve felt intuitively for years is now supported by research: repetitive handwork like crochet stimulates the release of dopamine, the brain’s “feel-good” chemical. Every stitch gives you a small moment of success. A quiet yes. Those tiny victories build up. Confidence grows. Joy settles in.

If you look at my Easter chicks, they may seem small and simple. But they perfectly show how something that once didn’t exist can become something meaningful. That’s the deeper layer of handmade work: it’s not just about what you create, it’s about what creating does to you.

Crochet helps you move beyond inner bars

Crochet is also a practice in meeting your own resistance. That whisper that says, “See? You can’t do this.” The urge to give up too quickly. The invisible bars we place around ourselves (perfectionism, doubt, fear of failure), soften when your hands begin to move. With every stitch, you are literally forming something new. What once felt rigid becomes flexible. My Easter chick isn’t just soft on the outside. It was shaped through persistence. Through calm. Through trust. Through growth.

Five Tuesday evenings to learn and grow

In April and May, I’m opening five Tuesday evenings for the journey: “Crochet Atelier | Basics.” Five moments where you can begin — no experience needed, no pressure, no expectations. Just you, yarn, and a new skill unfolding step by step. We start at the beginning: how to hold your hook, how to start with a foundation chain, how to create a magic ring, how to make a single crochet stitch, how to patiently build something beautiful

Everything is provided: soft yarn, crochet hooks, patterns, a cup of tea or coffee, a small treat — and most importantly, patience, guidance, and warmth. You’ll leave with knowledge, a finished project, and that magical feeling: I really can do this.

Maybe the Easter chick inspires you to create your very first piece soon.

Your invitation

Do you feel that small flutter in your stomach? That spark of curiosity? That desire to try something new and surprise yourself? Then I would love to reserve a place for you in “Crochet Atelier | Basics.” All you need to decide is that you are worthy of this experience. We’ll do the rest together, stitch by stitch, with warmth, trust, and a touch of gentle magic.

And who knows… Maybe one day you’ll look at your very first project the way I look at my Easter chicks: small, joyful, and completely yours.

With love, Hilde

Prefer to start on your own

Dit is meer dan een project. Het is een beleving. Een vertraging. Een oefening in vertrouwen.

  • Discover the pattern in the shop and create your own elegant Easter chick.

  • Choose the DIY kit carefully curated so you can begin immediately at home.

  • And make things even easier with the Easter stitch markers, also available in the shop.

This is more than a project. It’s an experience. A slowing down. A practice in trust.

My Easter decoration is finished. The next one can be yours.

The Atelier

This atelier is a warm five-session journey where we explore together, step by step. The participation fee is €150, and everything is included: yarn, hook, pattern, and beautiful shared moments filled with inspiration, calm, and connection.

What you take home is not just a finished piece, but skills and memories that stay with you.

As soon as we have five participants, we’ll schedule the dates together. You can already join the waiting list to secure your place. We consciously work with a small group (minimum six participants), so why not sign up with a friend? Creating becomes even more meaningful when shared.

I truly look forward to welcoming you into this warm and creative circle.
